The Mentorship Platform facilitates a structured remote learning environment for new open-source developers. It is a valuable tool for individuals who want to grow and develop in their personal and professional lives because it gives them access to the knowledge, skills, and experience of someone more experienced.
Experienced project maintainers and contributors use the platform to mentor aspiring individuals and help them become contributors to the open-source community.
To Get started:
Navigate to the Mentorship platform dashboard:
The Mentorships tab includes the mentorships programs enrolled on the platform, categorized by programs accepting mentee applications, in progress, and completed.
The Mentors tab includes profiles all the participating mentors.
The Mentees tab includes profiles of currently participating and graduated mentees.
To view more information about the program click on the program name:
If you cannot view the My Mentorships, My Tasks, and My Account tabs after you log in, please log out and log in again directly to mentorship.lfx.linuxfoundation.org.

To participate:
Administrators – enroll your mentorship program
Mentees – create a profile and apply to a program
Mentors – create a profile and request to be added to a program
Each Mentorship Program card contains the following information:
Project name and logo - click on the project title/logo to navigate to the project details page.
Terms - current, future, or past mentorship project terms.
Required Skills - technologies needed for mentees to have to apply to the project.
Apply - click on the CTA to apply to the project.
Applications Closed: the status is shown when the project no longer accepts mentee applications.
View Projects Statistics - click to donate to a project and view the following additional project details:
Mentors - current project mentors
Current Mentees - mentees currently participating in the project
Graduated Mentees - mentees who successfully completed the mentorship program
Funding To Date - total project funding received for mentee stipends.
The Mentees tab shows mentee profile cards with the following information:
Mentee name and avatar - Click on the name to navigate to the mentee profile page
Skills - mentee technical skills
Status - current mentee status of the mentee i.e. Accepted or Graduated
Mentors - mentors for the project in which the mentee is participating
Projects - mentorship project in which mentee participates or successfully completed
View Profile - click CTA to navigate to the mentee profile page

Mentor name and avatar - Click on the name to navigate to the mentor profile page
Skills - mentor technical skills
Current Mentees - current project mentees for which the mentor is volunteering
Graduated Mentees - mentees who completed the program under the mentor's guidance.
Projects - projects for which the mentor is volunteering
View Profile - click CTA to navigate to the mentor profile page
1. Navigate to the Mentorship Platform landing page, where you can view the Mentorships, Mentors, and Mentees tabs.
2. Click on Mentors tab and select a mentor card of interest. On the mentor's profile page, you can view the mentor's introduction, featured skills, link to the LinkedIn profile, and projects and mentees the mentor has worked with.
3. Click on Mentees tab and select a mentee card of interest. On the mentee's profile page, you can view the mentee's introduction, featured skills, if available, links to GitHub and LinkedIn profiles, links to resumes, as well as the project and mentors the mentee is associated with.
To view program details, navigate to the Mentorship platform, and under the Mentorships tab, select the program you would like to view.
On the program detail page, you can view the following information, depending on the available data:
The Mentors section contains mentor profile cards, click on View Profile to navigate to the mentor's profile page.
Mentee profile cards can be found in the Mentees section; click View Profile to go to the mentor's profile page.
The Graduated Mentees section contains profiles of the mentees who successfully completed the project's mentorship program, click on View Profile and navigate to the mentor's profile page.

Each mentorship card is visible on both Mentorship and Funding for the following reason:‌
Mentorship Program By offering paid mentorships, projects are able to provide mentees with opportunities to learn from experienced open source contributors as a segue to get internship and job opportunities after successful completion of the mentorship program.
Financial Information The Funding platform displays the mentorship program's financial information, including the total amount of funds donated to the program and the amount of stipends paid out.
‌Users can toggle between Mentorship and Funding to gain an insight into the mentorship program details and the financial records, which are visible on the Funding side.‌
**To toggle between Funding and Mentorship:**‌
Select a project you would like to view.
From mentorship program details page, click on View Crowdfunding CTA and vice versa, from Crowdfunding project details page, click on View Mentorship CTA.
